Lynne Tracy Cooke, MA, LMHC, RYT
Welcome to Maternal Wellness of Boston ~ a place where women nourish their potential through their astonishing journey of motherhood.
As a woman, I have experienced the joys and challenges of motherhood firsthand, raising two loving daughters who each recently received Masters of Social Work degrees. I have also witnessed numerous dear friends birth and raise their children. Not only has this created cherished memories, it has also expanded my understanding of the greater community within the family.
Professionally, I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), an employee assistance program (EAP) consultant, and a registered yoga teacher (RYT). Currently, I am facilitating Responding to Grief services including grief support groups and grief informed workshops.
I received my degree in psychology from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Lesley University. For the past twenty-five years, I have had a successful private practice, counseling individuals through difficult and uncomfortable emotions, effectively helping them respond to anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, illness, relationship conflict and other life transitions.
My personal and professional lives are interwoven. Yoga and Breathing Breaks (TM) impact my counseling style. Similarly, with the guidance and grace of my teacher and humanitarian leader, Amma or Sri Mata Amritanandamayi, I seek to support others. The name Amma translates to mother.
Synchronically, a life transition occurred for me as many of my clients were experiencing varying stages of motherhood. I was moved by the strength and vulnerability of these women and reevaluated my career path, immersing myself into learning about best practices for supporting their maternal mental health.
I received a The Art of Holding Perinatal Woman in Distress: Assessment, Treatment & Advanced Clinical Practice certificate from Karen Klieman’s Postpartum Stress Center. I have also completed the Maternal Mental Health Intensive: Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders & Perinatal Loss and Grief from Seleni Institute.
Now, I am pleased to pursue my passion for maternal wellness, counseling women through all stages of motherhood.
