Laura Frasier, Psy.D., PMH-C

I am a licensed clinical psychologist, and perinatal mental health specialist (PMH-C). I have worked in private practice in Washington, DC, NYC, and now back where I grew up, Boston. I earned my Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from the George Washington University, and did my clinical internship training at the University of Miami Counseling Center.  I completed my post-doctoral training as an associate at Georgetown University’s Counseling and Psychological Services, where I continued as a staff psychologist the following year.   After having two “pandemic babies” (yes, back to back), I realized I needed to dedicate my practice to perinatal mental health. I became passionate about bridging the gap between OBGYN visits and other therapeutic service that support mothers through pregnancy and postpartum. I am also a Level 2 Gottman Trained couples therapist.

I work with  a range of psychological and emotional issues including mood disorders and depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, self-esteem difficulties, and adjustment concerns.  I practice in both long and short-term models of therapy, with adults, young adults, couples, and families.  I emphasize a psychodynamic approach to therapy, and work integratively, using both behavioral and insight-oriented techniques.
